These flash cards are great resource. Just what i was looking for. Making my own was an option but these are excellent. Really clear layout. Triplets and other time signatures would be great too. Thanks, :)m

D'Net,
That is a great chart! Mine is from the teacher's store and isn't personalized with the smiley faces from the program. I hope others are checking into the "Piano is Fun" program. It is so worthwhile for note reading.

Thanks, 88keys. I was hoping to avoid text boxes to get everything to line up, but you're right, that's what I've had to do. Thanks, J.

StaffWriter does simple triplets, and with the use of text boxes, can even manage more complicated ones.

On the Tech Tips page of their website there's a PDF instruction sheet that tells you how to do it and shows examples of several types of triplets. (The website link for MacMusic Fonts is the 5th link down on the right hand side of this page.) :-)

I am incredibly generous for points in the summer. They get a point for each complete practice session, doing their theory, scales and technique, memorizing pieces, counting or saying the letter names out loud during the lesson, and so on. It keeps them motivated, especially with the promise of an ice cream party at the end.
